Who We Are

Our Story

A café & bistro on Marshfield's high street, run by Rachel and Sally — village shopkeepers for many years, now feeding the village too.

Rooted in the village

The Olive Tree stands on a site we know well. Our old shop traded here for years, until a fire destroyed the building — and the business with it. We moved across the road, where our other shop, Country Stores, still trades today.

When the chance came to bring the old site back to life, we took it. After a big renovation, The Olive Tree opened its doors: a lovely place for the people of Marshfield to eat and dine. Every recipe is cooked with love from fresh ingredients, and served piping hot.

After so many years keeping shop here, we know most of the faces that come through the door — and the room, the garden and the food are bringing plenty of new ones from further afield. The Olive Tree is also available to hire for private functions — just ask.
